During this period of uncertainly, School Caretakers are very much still in demand.
Many schools are now open post Covid, and as a result the site needs to be maintained to the same high standards as always. As a popular agency with Schools in Cheshire West and surrounding areas, Reed Education are continuing to recruit additional caretakers for local work.
The types of work:
Short term assignments covering for sickness and absences in school
Longer term opportunities, many with temporary-to-permanent options for the right person
A variety of hours – many of the roles we recruit for are full time, where you are looking at around 37 hours per week, some are part-time, and others evening or weekend.
As caretaker, you will need to be flexible to the needs of the school, as you will often be guided by what is going on, such as picking up more decorating responsibilities during half term.
General maintenance and minor repairs across the school, including fixing furniture, preparing classrooms and minor painting, or decorating
Working with outside contractors for major repair work
Making sure that the school is secure with doors and windows locked when not in use
Arranging classrooms for students and teachers.
Grounds maintenance, including lawns, hedging, beds and ensuring that the school ground is safe and clean.
When you choose Reed Education as your agency to support you in your search for work, you can expect to receive:
Competitive rates of pay
Access to the Reed pension plan
Access to Safeguarding training
Access to the Reed Benefit Club and Discount Club, offering money off a range of services and insurance cover
A dedicated consultant

Our registration process is clear and straight forward, and in light of current situations has been made complete remote so that you can enjoy a risk-free registration, leaving us to work in the background and make sure you are ready when the schools are.
Please Apply to Kayleigh Williams at Reed Education to discuss your search for work and register for local caretaking work.
Reed are committed to safeguarding and all candidates will be subject to a formal registration process which requires an enhanced DBS check either on the Update Service or completed by Reed.
