Job Title: Careers Advisor 
Location: Kingston, Surrey 
Pay rate: £15 per hour 
Hours: 18 hours per week 
Duration: Friday 18th August 2017 - Friday 1st September 2017 

Our REED Education FE branch are currently working with a 'Good' college on an exciting new role in the Surrey area. 

Starting in August , the college are looking for an outstanding  Careers Advisor to join them on a temporary basis.

The College:

Our client is one of the highest performing colleges in London, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in February 2013. It is a major provider of further, higher and adult education to over 10,000 students.

The Role:

·You will be providing impartial careers information, advice and guidance to all clients, internal and external, 14-19 and adult, on an individual or group basis.
· You will be preparing and presenting group works tailored to client group
· You will be advising students and staff on Higher Education Student Finance and delivering advice guidance to the Higher Education cohort.
· Maintaining records and undertake qualitative and quantitative monitoring of the College’s careers education and guidance services.
· Maintaining and update all careers information and resources within the College, ensuring the Support Centre and associated satellite services are equipped with paper-based and software resources to support careers education and guidance.
· Liaise with staff across the College with any issue relating to Careers advice and guidance
· Act as one of the College’s UCAS co-ordinators to co-ordinate the electronic UCAS application process for the College and advise on personal statements for student UCAS forms

What you will need:

· Minimum of two years' experience as a qualified advisor, providing careers advice and guidance to individuals and groups 
· IAG qualification 
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to provide a professional service including an awareness of the need for discretion and confidentiality
· Strong general IT skills
· A good team member, able to prioritise his/her own work, as well as provide assistance with the work of others when required
· The ability to follow standard College processes and procedures in a methodical and organised manner.
