We are recruiting for an experience’s care assistant. We support a young lady who has an acquired brain injury so need full support with her mobility, peg feeding and personal care. she has a tracheostomy fitted, You do not need to have training in tracheostomy and suctioning but the long term goal is that you are trained up and confident in taking this young person out on their own to undertake activities like going to the cinema going to Meadowhall etc , she loves music festivals.
The shifts are Fridays Saturdays and Sundays 4pm to 9pm. (you will need to commit to a minimum of at least 2 shift every alternate weekend) the pay is £10 per hour. rising to £12 once fully trained.
You would need the following attributes, training, and experience: -
- 6-month experience of working with young people who have physical disabilities
- A bubbly outgoing personality.
- Providing personal care will be essential.
- Experience of working with young people who need complex care.
- Be trained or willing to be trained in emergency Tracheostomy care.
