Oxford City Council are recruiting for a Business Regulation Compliance Officer:

  • To carry out a range of enforcement interventions and regulatory casework within the Business Regulation Team including COVID-19 legislation and guidance.
  • To provide technical advice on legal and policy requirements across a range of Business regulation Team functions to customers and other internal and external stakeholders
  • To assist with delivering regulatory and statutory functions, including preparing Committee reports and attending Committee meetings

The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant Licensing or equivalent qualification, or evidence of successfully completing relevant training
  • Experience of providing excellent customer service
  • Experience of using a range of ICT packages, data management systems and web-based applications
  • Strong organisational skills including an ability to prioritise workload, deal with high volumes of work and to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, including negotiating and influencing skills demonstrating the ability to deal effectively with Business Regulation Team customers and all key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in line with written policies and procedures
  • Problem solving skills to process information and make appropriate decisions
  • Experience of successfully working as part of a team
  • Experience of attending committees, meetings, inquiries/court hearings etc. on casework and related matters
  • Experience of undertaking compliance visits
  • Evidence of personal learning and development to demonstrate understanding of legislative changes and good practice

This will me a full-time role that is temporary till Mach 2020, paying £13.79 per hour. Apply below if you meet the requirements for the role
