Our client is looking for a Business Manager to start asap for a 12 week period or until the role is filled on a permanent basis.

Main Purpose
• To work strategically to support the Senior Management to define the strategic direction and development of the department and supporting strategy developments.
• To lead the operations, working closely with Professional Services and undertaking key business activities to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the department.

Main duties and responsibilities:
- To provide high level managerial and administrative leadership for operational activity.
- To provide line management and supervision of a team of Administrators and other staff as required.
- Support the Senior Management team with the development and communication of the strategic plans, direction, priorities and developments.
- To work with the Senior Management and external affairs in developing, implementing and maintaining national and international collaborations and partnerships.
- To work with the staff to develop a good understanding of professional services operations and processes; providing advice and guidance as needed to the team.
- To work proactively to support the Senior Management by leading key institutional business operation processes on behalf of the department, in liaison with specialist staff in other departments. This will include but not be limited to:
o Leading on the drafting of annual planning around documentation.
o Planning.
o Compilation and maintenance of risk registers.
o Undertaking and supporting business continuity planning.
o Support the oversight and management of finances, including where relevant, management of administration budgets.
o Supporting estates developments.
o Support the identification, development and implementation of equality and diversity initiatives with the department.
- Leading on projects and initiatives as required.
- To develop robust business cases for the department developments, liaising with other teams to ensure input as required.
- Leading on the implementation and operations of compliance issues across the department, including data protection, records retention, procurement and risk management.
- Leading on the implementation and operation of new policies across the department.
