Southend-On-Sea Borough Council is recruiting for a Business Engagement Officer to join their dynamic team to help deliver the Business Essex, Southend and Thurrock (BEST) Growth Hub. You will be part of a team delivering business support across the whole of Essex and will work from various locations. Do you want to be at the heart of business support, aiding businesses to grow in the local economy? This role will involve assisting businesses in their development, whether they be new or existing, promoting the benefits and utility of the Growth Hub. This is an amazing opportunity that will offer you full training and a professional accreditation. This role is being offered on a fixed term contract until March 2018.

The post holder will also be responsible for identifying appropriate support for individual businesses from the suite available and to guide them through the process; be that grant application, innovation voucher application, identifying relevant events and workshops to attend or other related activity.
• To promote the benefits and utility of the Growth Hub to individual companies and the local business and secure their engagement. This will be achieved through on-going proactive and reactive engagement thus constantly developing demand for the support available.
• To liaise with complementary national Government programmes (DIT etc) to ensure cross referrals, excellent record keeping and a joined-up approach in delivery.
• To be responsible for excellent programme record management for each business engaged under the auspices of the programme and via the Growth Hub.
• To maintain robust records of outputs, results and match funding delivered by the programme.

The post holder will be an excellent communicator who enjoys engaging with a variety of individuals and possess the ability to influence.

You will require excellent attention to detail and consequently able to insight fully and robustly manage, monitor and report on outputs, results and match funding delivered by the programme.
