Initially offered on an 11 month contract, the role has potential to extend or become a permanent position. The hours of work are full time position (37 hours per week) however flexible working arrangements are available. Based at The Tickfield Centre, the team are also responsible for a variety of rooms at the Civic Centre and supporting events across the organisation. The role will represent the team when attending meetings Tickfield or Civic and occasionally at events around the Town. Southend has great transport links via rail or road, therefore making it accessible to anyone considering travelling from outside the Borough.
Naturally, for this role type there is a key objective to increase revenue through effective marketing strategies. However by increasing awareness to services, ensure marketing is consistent, relevant and up to date you will build momentum and steer the teams exciting future direction!
The role will lead the design, development, delivery and evaluation of marketing plans using resources available together with your creative flair, ideas and innovative solutions. You will engage with business support colleagues to achieve team aims and objectives. The successful applicant will be responsible for various media channels including social media platforms, writing copy plus maintaining webpages and on-line directories.
You will be able to work independently and self-motivated when communicating with a wide range of internal and external services and suppliers such as designers or printing providers to ensure the campaigns are created effectively within corporate guidelines and ensuring the service has a strong brand and its services are clearly conveyed.
The team are keen for someone to join their small team with the confidence and drive to make a real impact. There will be support and guidance available from an experienced venues manager and business support team. Ideally you will have a qualification in marketing, sales or business however this is not an essential requirement. It would also be desirable if you had worked in the events industry with regards to conferences, exhibitions, hospitality or learning and development as these are the facilities the service predominantly offers.
