We are working with an award-winning market leading business in the Health sector who provide specialist services to the NHS. They are a fantastic company to work for with a very low staff turnover.

My client is looking to recruit a field based Business Development Manager to look after an area in the North West territory. This is a role that will provide great opportunity and development potential to an experienced sales candidate looking to excel. As mentioned, this business is one of the major players in the market place, with a network of locations across the UK, upholding a strong reputation of customer service and therefore customer retention.

They are now looking to bring on an additional Business Development Manager who will have their own dedicated territory to develop. They are offering a basic salary of £25,000 with an excellent commission structure with a realistic OTE of £50,000 in the first year.

Remit of the role:
You will be given your own territory to develop and you will have a consultative sales approach in order to uphold the strong reputation of the business. You can be based anywhere in the North West. You will have sales experience but a full 3 week training programme will be given to give you a great head start in the role. The in-depth training will cover the extensive product range and an overview of the structure of the NHS. Experience selling to the NHS is not essential, but could be beneficial.

Typical week;
One day office/home based setting your appointments for the week and 4 days on the road attending appointments. You will have the support of a team who will book some appointments for you. On an average week you will sit 20 appointments over the 4 days.

Responsibilities:
To target and secure new business and to continue to grow and manage accounts of current customers.

Ideal Candidate:
You will be a resilient and tenacious problem solver with a very consultative selling style. You will have the ability and passion to build long lasting business relationships.
The average selling cycle can range from 4 weeks up to a few months to develop key accounts so you will have the persistence and time management skills to manage your workload.


Essential skills required;
A minimum of 2 years field sales experience
You will have experience setting your own appointments as well as delivering pitches face to face to senior level
Business to business sales experience
working within this role requires an all-round sales professional who has both the drive and energy to succeed.
You will be driven in all aspects of the role from planning and organising your week to cold calling potential new customers, and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
Polished, articulate communicator, results driven
Knowledge of the health and social care sector could be beneficial but non-essential
Driving licence is essential
