You will work within a specified market sector and will need to quickly gain an understanding through conversations with Clients in order to become a specialist in that market. It is also advisable that you read industry specific magazines and websites in your own time in order to further your understanding.

This is a proactive outbound sales role which will involve making telephone calls (canvassing) in order to establish current needs or potential needs for our services to existing Clients on our bespoke Client Relationship Management software

You will also be given hot and qualified leads from colleagues and targeted new business opportunities from your manager

If the Client is recruiting your responsibility is to:

a) Gain a full understanding of Vacancies that Client wishes us to fill by taking down a detailed job specification including: job description, person specification (experience, personality etc), benefits package, why should someone work for the Client and the interviewing/decision making process

b) When you have a good understanding of what the Client is looking for you will then clearly explain what happens after a Vacancy is placed with On Target Recruitment and how this may differ from our competitors i.e.: They will receive a call from a Consultant within the hour to discuss Candidates and that we need a date, location and 3 time 'slots' from their diary where On Target Recruitment will decide the best 3 Candidates for the Client to Interview

c) Then you have to agree the Terms of Business with the Client if they are not already in place, including the fee percentage of basic salary (including any guaranteed payments), payment terms and rebate period and then confirm that agreement in writing

d) You will then brief your team of Consultants on the Vacancy to allow them to immediately start interviewing Candidates

e) Finally, you will input all of the finer details of the Vacancy, company and decision making process on to the database to enable your Consultants to effectively prepare Candidates for Interviews

If the Client or prospective Client is not recruiting your responsibility is to:

Qualify the decision maker to ensure that we are talking to someone that has a need for On Target's services

Ensure that the Client or prospective Client will place their next Vacancy with us by talking to them about how they recruit and looking for an opportunity to sell the relevant features and benefits of our business to gain that commitment

Leverage that commitment to network through the business to find other decision makers that may be recruiting or that we can sell our services to

Speed and accuracy are important as you have to ensure that conversations are fully documented on the database. Then you can utilise that information during the next call to further the relationship with and understanding of that Client or prospective Client. Understanding the structure of a Client is an essential part of the role that will allow you to network and to sell to all relevant decision makers and maximize the number of Vacancies we can work on

We will also expect you to set and attend meetings with Clients face to face anywhere in the UK. To begin with you will attend these meetings with an experienced senior colleague and may be out of the office once a month
