Bookkeeper / Accountant - Cambridge - £35,000-£40,000 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen with an established, Cambridge based property company, for an experienced Bookeeper / Accountant to join the existing team, taking responsibility for all the company's accounting tasks.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this role will include the following:
Ensure all landlord, tenant and property financial records are accurate and up to date.
Enter all rent receipts and all expenses incurred against properties ensuring landlords receive the rent due to them and suppliers of services and goods receive payments in a timely manner
Produce monthly landlord statements or other financial reports as may be required from time to time.
Maintain accurate records concerning tenants’ deposits and to maintain the necessary administration for the Tenant Deposit Scheme and the return of deposit balances to departing tenants.
Reconcile the landlord current and deposit bank account records.
Deal with any landlord or tenant initiated queries or correspondence concerning financial events.
Entry of all income and expenses in each company.
Reconcile monthly all bank accounts in each company in order to prepare accounts up to trial balance and complete monthly management reports.
Prepare the necessary reports for the payroll bureau in order for monthly salaries to be paid.
Deal with any queries or correspondence from debtors, suppliers or colleagues regarding financial events.
This client is looking for a confident, self-motivated indidvidual. This is a sole finance position and therefore requires candidates to possess strong accounting skills and knowledge, and the ability to work alone for the most part.
It is essential that candidates have considerable accounts experience, ideally up to the production of trial balance and month end reporting, however those with strong transactional experience will also be considered - salary will reflect experience. Property and / or lettings experience would be of considerable advantage.
This is a busy role, based in Cambridge (parking provided and a degree of flexibility is available regarding working hours) and therefore requires a fully committed approach, the ability to work to tight deadlines and excellent customer service and communication skills.
