My client are a successful US law firm who are looking for a biller for a 3 month FTC. 

• Compile and bill attorney hours to clients every month
• Review and edit pre-bills in response to attorney and secretary requests
• Apply retainer/on-account funds as directed by attorney and as per Firm policy
• Process write-offs following Firm policy
• Execute complex bills in a timely matter (ie. multiple discounts by matter, split party billing, preparation of electronic bills)
• Submit invoices electronically and assist in resolving issues that might arise
• Handle high volume of bills per month in various currencies
• Effectively interact and communicate with attorneys, secretaries and clients
• Review and verify accuracy of billing supporting documentation as required
• Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems
• Create billing schedules and various other billing analyses as required
• Familiarize and apply Firm and department billing policies and procedures
• Assist with special projects as needed
• Distribute monthly partner reports
• Attend partner meetings when required
• Attend bi-monthly call with management to review unbilled matter comments, matter on-accounts, e-billing issues
• Review and update on a regular basis matter narrative comments for reports distributed to the Finance Committee and partners
• Communicate with partners and associates regarding projects etc.
• Good understanding of VAT rules affecting UK & EU billing
• Working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
• Experience of billing in different currencies
• Liaise with NY Billing to help out with the London collections
• Cover for other Billing team member
• Attend training sessions as directed
• Perform other duties as assigned


Experience:
Basic : Minimum of 1-2 years of billing experience obtained in a large preferably US
law firm setting

Preferred : 3 years of billing experience

Verbal Skills:
Ability to verbally present information effectively to and respond to questions from firm personnel, clients and the general public using business English

Computer/Keyboarding Skills:
Basic: Proficiency in using Elite 3E; strong skills in Excel

Preferred: Experience using Microsoft Office and Nuance pdf.

Reasoning Ability
High skills – ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
