We are currently seeking applications from Behaviour Managers and Learning Support Assistants for special schools across the area. You will be working in education provisions and providing pastoral support, behaviour management and learning support. Work in this sector is likely to increase rapidly as schools start to reopen across the spring term and as such we are keen to prepare for this by increasing our provision.
You should have a strong background in this specific area or similar and ideally hold a level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline. Having worked in this type of setting before you will be able to demonstrate the prerequisite attributes required for work of this type: patience, dedication, commitment, empathy and a level headed approach to situations that could escalate quickly. Ideally trained or experienced in Team Teach or MAPA, although often as a temp you won’t be required to utilise these techniques unless it is a specific necessity for the role.
Working in these roles as a temporary member of the team can be highly rewarding. You will be able to experience first hand how it feels to work in a particular school or setting and learn how different places do things. Gathering this information and applying it to your own approach can be an excellent way to develop yourself professionally. Often, work of this type is booked for the longer term, 6 weeks or more, so it can give you some security and regularity too.
You will be assigned a specialist consultant within Reed to manage your work allocation and proactively search for the right roles for you based on your aspirations. You can earn up to £70 a day or more for specialist work in this area, and many of our temporary staff move quickly in to contracted roles in the schools where they have been placed. For more information please click “Apply”, your details will come straight to us in branch, we will get back to you the same day wherever possible to discuss what opportunities there might be. Registrations are conducted remotely over video call so there is no need to visit the branch.
