We are currently working with a market leading consultant how are looking to take on a Assistant Project Manager/ Building Surveyor. To work across a wide a varied property portfolio form education, to commercial and industrial properties. These properties are undergoing a number of strategic implementation projects ranging from relatively small to large, complex refurbishments and conversion works. All the building projects from the relatively small through to the large complex schemes are essential in helping deliver its core services and its ability to serve the local community.

The role will require a recently qualified Building Surveyor to assist the Project Manager to undertake basic design work, tender and procure, manage small to medium schemes through to project completion and handover. Throughout the project deliveries, it is essential to meet the clients’ aspirations and main requirements. Assist on larger complex projects during a scheme’s development. The right candidate will have extensive construction technical knowledge, be up-to-date with the latest industry practices, be fully conversant in contract management and be competent in designing small construction schemes: mainly on existing buildings undertaking conversion and refurbishment. Would suit an enthusiastic recently qualified building surveyor or assistant project manager to assist the Project Managers to deliver a wide range of capital works schemes.
Main Key Requirements
Minimum qualification HNC/HND in Construction or approved equivalent.
Excellent working knowledge of construction schemes mainly involving refurbishment, conversion and adaptation of existing buildings.

A full UK driving licence.

Wide knowledge and understanding of applicable H&S legislation e.g. CDM regulations.

Desirable Skills and Experience

Conversant in AutoCAD applications.

Good knowledge of Word and Excel.

Good organisational and communications skills.

Ability to undertake design work and solve problems in a creative manner.

Experience of large refurbishment projects whether in the commercial or public sectors.

This will be a contracted role to start with for 12 months , full time hours and is very likely to be extend.
