My client is a financial services provider offering savings, investment, and protection products which helps families and individuals reach their financial goals, protect their families and improve communities.

The Assistant Financial Reporting Accountant will support the Financial Reporting function in the analysis and reporting of the Company’s policyholder and shareholder investment

Working hours: Monday to Friday within the hours of 8.30- 5 pm Flexible (7.5 hour day with 45 minute unpaid lunch)

Salary : £25,000-£30,000

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Prepare journal entries and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare monthly management information packs.
Prepare inputs into the quarterly management information packs.
Responsibility for the month end and quarter end close process.
Assist in the monthly reporting cycle, providing analysis and reporting of investment holdings, performance and transaction activity within the policyholder and shareholder portfolios
Assist in the Production of financial statements and notes to the accounts.
Assist in the provision of data for financial reporting, including annual and quarterly statutory and solvency reporting
Assist in managing timetables for monthly, quarterly and year end reporting
Provide other analysis and information as required from time to time
Drive continuous improvement within finance, reviewing and streamlining processes as required.
Review and maintain procedure documents for all processes within the area of responsibility.
Ad-hoc projects as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Part qualified/actively studying towards an accountancy qualification
Excellent data analysis, reconciliation and reporting skills
Intermediate Excel user and proficient at Word and PowerPoint
Self-starter with an eye for details and determination to deliver accurate and informative results
Ability to work on projects as required, understanding of deadlines and ability to cope with change
Desire to maintain and develop relevant knowledge and skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a small team with good communication skills
