Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Sourcing and buying of quality components and materials used in product manufacture, and also supporting with indirect spend categories such as haulage, cleaning, utilities etc.; directly managing small spend suppliers
Carrying out regular supplier visits to maintain standards and resolve supplier issues
Assisting in risk mitigation plans based on supplier performance and commercial risk measurements
Ensuring supply agreements are in place for approved key suppliers.
Liaising with both internal and external customers in order to maintain agreed quality standards and delivery dates.
Assisting with resolution of quality and delivery issues relating to goods received
Driving continuous improvement initiatives
Supporting cost reduction and productivity programmes
Engaging with new suppliers, managing the transition and implementation from RFQ stage through to delivery
The successful candidate will already have relevant procurement experience, ideally gained in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience of using an ERP system also preferred. CIPS qualification would be useful, but not essential.
