Our client is a well established consultancy business based in Bayswater.  They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant to join the small head office finance team.

Initially the Assistant Accountant will be closely supervised by 3 qualified accountants with the aim that they will be able to fulfil the following tasks.
1. Maintenance of all aspects of accounting for 6 entities including purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations, accruals/prepayments.
2. Preparation of payroll data for 5 entities for processing at payroll bureau, checking payroll on receipt. Also, includes checking and payment of workplace pension contributions and arrangement of payments to HMRC.
3. Payroll for three family members using HMRC software.
4. Preparation of quarterly management accounts to trial balance stage for 3 companies.
5. Preparation of quarterly management accounts and draft commentary for 1 group company.
6. Preparation to trial balance stage of annual accounts along with supporting working papers, liaising with auditors for 4 entities.
7. Assisting with budget preparation for several group companies.
8. VAT returns for 4 entities.
9. Review of quarterly applications for donations from the Charitable Trust, preparation of management accounts, statutory accounts and liaison with auditors.
10. Preparation and submission of sales invoices (20 per quarter).


Job Skills
1. Knowledge and experience of Sage (FX Trader) and the production of management accounts to trial balance.
2. Knowledge and experience of managing a payroll and related HMRC reporting.
3. Knowledge and experience of VAT reporting preferably including reverse charge rules.
4. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
5. Experience of assisting with producing budgets and management accounts for small companies.
6. Experience of liaising with auditors on production of statutory accounts.

1. Ability to work as part of a small team.
2. Discretion is essential as the work involves the knowledge of the financial affairs of various family members
3. Adaptability & flexibility.
4. Ability to organise work and files.
