Reed Accountancy & Finance are working closely with a client within the construction industry based in Co Antrim, and are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This is a 12 month contract to cover a period of maternity leave.
Working as part of a small team, duties will involve management of Purchase Ledger, reconciliation of bank accounts, preparation of monthly accounts to trial balance, analysis of nominal codes, processing of weekly payrolls, weekly and monthly reporting duties and any other ad-hoc duties.
More specific duties include:
Management of Purchase ledger – matching of POD’s, entering invoices & credit notes / payments onto sage / and ensure purchase invoices are signed off by appropriate personnel
Management of bank & cash position / Bank account summaries and ensure movements in cash are recorded in the correct cashbooks, bank accounts and nominal codes
Assist in the preparation of Monthly Management Accounts including posting of prepayments/accruals/Fixed Assets/Wages onto Sage and further analysis as and when requested
Prepare Sales reports and issue Weekly and Monthly
Liaise with General Manager to ensure stock counts are completed monthly
Weekly Payroll processing
Credit Card analysis and postings for Senior personnel
Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements
Undertake accounting tasks in accordance with work demands in respect of the business and other company groups
Any other duties within reason and capability associated with this role.
A professional qualification ATI / IATI or part professional qualification CIMA / ACA
Previous experience working with an ERP systems (Sage / MS Nav)
Ability to demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent reporting skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment
