My client, a London Bourough Council, are recruiting for an experienced Compliance Manager to provide strategic leadership for the organisation in relation to health & safety; to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation; and to promote continual improvement throughout the organisation.


. Provide expert knowledge, skills and interventions to influence, challenge and achieve our goals and targets for Health & Safety
. Lead the Asset Compliance Team, ensuring high levels of performance and customer service
. Work collaboratively with peers and other members of the Divsion to develop innovative solutions and timely and cost effective best practice
. Promote a positive Health & Safety culture and environment for employees, service users and the public, which reflects the changing needs arising out of Health & Safety legislation and best practice
. Own the Property Compliance standards across the business, reporting compliance with statutory and legal duties to Senior Officers and H&S Boards.
. Act as a Technical Advisor with regard to all aspects of Health & Safety and
Environmental activities; with particular focus on Property Services on CSCS, COSHH and
Construction safety including CDM
. Control all legislative documents relating to Health & Safety, Fire Prevention, Water Safety and Asbestos
Management to ensure adequate and appropriate record retention
. Act as the Authority’s Responsible Officer and contact point for all enforcing agencies
. Manage and oversee the delivery of the estate inspection programme to provide a safe environment for staff, residents and minimise insurance claims
. Procure and manage compliance related works
Manage budgets to ensure services are delivered in the most effective way possible
. Coordinate learning and development opportunities for staff
. Use a flexible and engaging coaching style of management to support and develop colleagues for the benefit of the individual, service and organisation

. NEBOSH Diploma
. Member of IOSH - CMIOSH (or GradIOSH and evidence of working towards CMIOSH)
. Fire qualification (Desirable)
. Asbestos qualification (Desirable)
