Reed Education are supporting a SEN School in Horsham to recruit a long term supply Art Teacher.
This is an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ registered care and education campus which is set in picturesque countryside of West Sussex. This school is an independent school which offers education to boys and girls with social, emotional and mental health needs between the ages of 7 – 18 yrs.
Typically students will present behaviour that challenges, some will have associated learning difficulties and almost all children will have encountered negative educational experiences or disruption, and consequently lack confidence in their own abilities.
This school has excellent specialist facilities, including an on-site floodlit sports area for basketball, football and tennis as well as a games room for pool, table tennis and air hockey.
This school are looking to appoint a motivated and skilled practitioner who is passionate about teaching and learning and can engage our students in education even when they may be reluctant due to previous life experiences.

The post holder will be expected to lead the teaching of and co-ordinate flexible, person-centred programs of study for designated individuals and groups of primary and lower secondary pupils with SEMH and complex needs. You will need to have qualified teacher status and have experience of working with young people with SEMH.
Following a thorough induction and training programme, your duties will include:
Plan and Teach tailored lessons to Primary and lower Secondary Students
Monitor progress of the children through regular tracking of performance
Attend regular staff meeting
In order to apply you must have evidence of the following:
-Qualified Teacher Status
-Evidence of working in a child protection environment or of child protection issues, procedures and legislation.
-A good working knowledge and understanding of curriculum requirements and assessment procedures.
-A good working knowledge and understanding of Key Stages 3 and 4.
