Reed Sales have a fantastic new role for an Area Sales Manager , for over 20 years our clients have supplied fresh produce packers in the US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Europe, S.America, S.Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Israel and Asia, with the widest range of automatic fruit labeling systems - from high speed on-sizer - to specialised tray or pattern applications. They have pioneered the development of bellows technology for applying specially designed micro-thin fruit labels onto curved and uneven fruit surfaces at high speeds. Our client employs this technology on all its automatic fruit labeling solutions.

This home-based sales role will initially focus on sales activities in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland and Scandinavia but there may be scope for additional market coverage longer term. The role's main functions include:

Developing Sales Plans to increase sales and win competitive accounts

Direct Sales activities with fresh produce packers/importers in the UK, Ireland & Scandinavia

Sales activities with fresh produce packers/importers via Sinclair's agent in the Netherlands & Belgium

Agent support activities

Management of customer contracts

Reporting of competitor activity

Reporting of general market information

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out direct customer sales activities including regular customer/market visits as per the visit schedule agreed with the Director of Marketing & ROW Sales

• Grow label sales volumes and labelling system revenue

• Identify and manage Target Accounts and Vulnerable Accounts in Salesforce CRM system

• Work with Sales Support Executive to carry out effective customer account management (contracts, operating period reviews, pricing, FACHs, assets, credit control issues)

• Work with Sales Support Executive to ensure the Retailers’ service providers kept updated about Retailers’ labelling programmes

• Liaison between Benelux Agent and Sinclair

• Provide agent support (product information, pricing, procedures, lead times, monitor commission payments) including quarterly market visits

• Provide bi-weekly market reports to the Director of Marketing & ROW Sales, these should include updates on sales activity, agent issues, competitor activity & general market intelligence

• Monitor customer complaints and effectiveness of Sinclair’s response

• To abide by all statutory requirements including those relating to health and safety.

• To ensure you read, understand and fulfil your responsibilities under the Company’s equal opportunities policy in place from time to time.

• To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Line Manager.

The successful candidate must have a degree level education and demonstrable Sales experience.

They must be culturally aware and have excellent inter-personal, communication and numeracy skills.

Intermediate IT skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint is essential.
The candidate must also be prepared to travel extensively within the relevant markets with around 70% of their work time spent 'on the road'.
