My client based in Long Stratton is recruiting for an experienced Area Housing officer on a contract until March 2018 to work as part of a team responsible for the management of the Trust’s estates, including rent arrears recovery, tackling issues of anti social behaviour and providing estate management and tenancy administration.

Main duties include:
-Responsibility for rent arrears control and recovery, including service of Notice of Seeking Possession and attendance at County Court when required.
- To provide tenants with welfare benefits and income maximization advice, and assist customers to making claims for housing benefit (including HB verification).
- To administer tenancies in respect of succession, assignment and applications for joint tenancy etc.
- To investigate all complaints in respect of neighbour nuisance and anti-social behaviour and take steps to resolve these within the Trust’s policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the Trust’s tenancy conditions are complied with and seek to resolve breaches.
- Authorise tenants’ alterations or improvements to properties as appropriate.
- To ensure that estates are managed to a high standard, recommending to the Team Leader works required to improve the facilities or environment of estates and arranging for works to be undertaken using ‘estate maintenance’ budget provision. Undertake regular Estate inspections.
- Undertake accompanied viewings, tenancy "sign ups" to properties (including required follow up visits) and ‘end of tenancy’ liaison.
-To carry out tenant consultation on issues of housing management and encourage participation generally. To attend evening meetings as required in connection with Tenant and Resident Involvement.



You must have;

- Work Experience/Background
- Possess a high level of numeracy
- Be able to use IT confidently and effectively iii. Experience of working in a busy customer service environment.
- Full driving licence

Possess knowledge of legislation and good practice in relation to housing management activities.
