A global support services company based in the Kent area, are currently looking for a skilled Analytical Chemist to join their Analytical services team. This position will suit applications from individuals with experience carrying out HPLC and GC analysis, with a strong background in analytical method development and validation.

Key Responsibilities

▪ Provide Analytical support to Marketing and Innovation projects using analytical techniques and instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, ion chromatography, UV spectrophotometry and wet chemistry analysis 

▪ Provide analytical input and deliver assigned analytical activities for projects to meet development and regulatory deadlines

▪ Support and execute the development and validation of new and existing analytical methods and equipment.

▪ Produce reliable and precise data, interpret the outcomes, make recommendations where necessary and fully document work in reports and presentations to support regulatory product approval, ensuring that agreed timetables are adhered to.

▪ To be a Study Director responsible for the overall conduct of studies undertaken to Good Laboratory Practice carried out in the analytical laboratory.

▪ Be aware of, and keep up to date with, health and safety issues. Understand and apply relevant safety and best practice guidelines in the use of new and existing instrumentation, e.g. risk assessments, COSHH.

Person Specification:

▪ Experience of a broad range of analytical techniques and operating laboratory equipment including HLPC) and GC.

▪ Expertise in method development, method validation, analysis and data interpretation.

▪ Experience and knowledge of Quality Assurance and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) systems and laboratory best practices.

▪ Presentation skills and the ability to convey technical information to non-technical people.

▪ Experience in analysis of Volatile Organic Compounds an advantage but not essential.
