Our client are a widely recognised leading company in the General (Private) Aviation industry. They are currently recruiting for an Aircraft Mechanic to be based at Luton Airport.
Reporting to the Engineering Base Manager – based in Luton, in the role of Aircraft Mechanic you will be responsible for conducting and maintaining high standards of aircraft maintenance and to undertake such maintenance in a safe and timely manner as appropriate to the role, and in accordance with approved data, MOE/ work instructions, and regulations. Working within a small team, the successful candidate will at times be required to manage as necessary the company mobile phones throughout the shift and be able to provide customer feedback.
The aircraft mechanic role based in Luton, is demanding and the successful candidate should be a self-motivated and dedicated individual with a professional pro-active approach and a focus on providing customer service of the highest standard. Excellent communication skills are needed with a conscientious, flexible approach and a smart appearance.
• Ability to demonstrate and provide evidence of experience and competencies relevant to the role of aircraft mechanic.
• Ability to effectively undertake maintenance tasks in a safe manner and in accordance with the approved data, MOE and regulations.
• Liaise with day shift engineers/ N/S engineers and customers and other departments effectively, and to communicate in an effective and clear manner both verbally and in written format.
• Pro-active/ flexible approach
• Current Human Factors training
• Work as part of a small team, or at times in a lone working capacity
Demonstrable experience of working as a mechanic within the Corporate Aviation sector would be beneficial and preference will be given to those candidates that have some form of recognised formal training, such as an apprenticeship. Mechanics holding an ‘A’ license would be considered for this role, but this is not essential.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate currency with regard to certification of maintenance, and must have current up to date Human Factors training.
Familiarity with modern aircraft systems would be desirable however good computer skills (Microsoft packages, general working knowledge of systems) are a requirement. Sheet metal experience would also be beneficial but is not essential as this is primarily a mechanical role.
Additionally, the individual must have held a Full Driving License (held for a minimum of six months) and have a 5 year checkable history in order to obtain an airport ID pass.
This role is 4 on 4 off shift (07.00 – 19.00)
Permanent, 42 hours per week

Salary including shift allowance is £30863.00
