About the role
You will join the Community Learning Disability Service, which is a newly established, forward thinking integrated team. The Learning Disability Services has been rated Outstanding by CQC. The team works closely with residents, carers and Independent Providers to provide a person centred service to adults with Learning Disabilities.
As an experienced social worker, you will manage a caseload which includes complex cases and work within a multi-disciplinary team. You will provide professional social work to adults with learning disabilities, their carer’s, groups and communities to assess and intervene using their professional judgement. You will employ a range of interventions promoting choice, control and independence and integrate positive risk taking.
You will actively promote wellbeing and independence, to enable individuals and carers to retain or regain their skills and confidence and prevent or delay deterioration. You will engage effectively with families to facilitate contingency planning to anticipate complexity and changing circumstances.
We are looking for applicants who have a genuine interest and commitment to working with people with learning disabilities and their carers.
What you will need to succeed
You will hold a Social Work qualification, be passionate about serving our residents, and have excellent communication skills and the creativity to find solutions that deliver excellent services our customers deserve. Have experience working with people with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Autism or Physical Disabilities.
This role would suit someone who has a passion for ensuring the delivery of high quality services and who enjoys supporting people to achieve their potential. This role would suit an individual who is committed to improving the services for people with learning disabilities.
