Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is offering an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Social Worker to join their friendly and hard- working Adult Community Mental Health Team.

Your base will be within the Recovery Wellbeing Team at Taylor Centre, Warrior House. There are two roles to be offered on a full time, permanent basis, however, part-time applications for job share can be considered. Full training in this area will be provided, together with robust supervision and a real commitment to your professional development.

You will hold a caseload of people who have complex mental health needs and will undertake comprehensive needs-led assessments, working as an integral member of the team. The role involves liaison with other professionals allied to the local community mental health team, including Health Authority staff, community nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational and specialist therapists, amongst others.

You must hold a recognised qualification in Social Work or equivalent. Southend Council is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual, previous experience in mental health, including that gained in academic placements is desirable but not essential. What is essential is a practitioner who is committed to working in partnership with service users, carers, and other involved agencies.
