We are currently looking for a number of admissions officers to start work for a higher education establishment in Salford to support the Admissions team over the summer period when they are dealing with A level results coming in and then Clearing for those applicants who did not manage to secure a place. The role is due to start on Monday 10th July and will last for at least 13 weeks. 

Working closely with colleagues in marketing and external relations the team is responsible for managing relations with applicants, and for providing expert support and advice for UK, EU and International applicants across Undergraduate, Postgraduate and other student categories (including part-time, modular, partnerships and distance-learning). The admissions process spans managing enquiries and applications through to registration (which is then handled by Student Administration).

The hours of work will be 8.45 to 5pm which is 36.25 hours per week. There will be a full Saturday 12th August which the successful candidates would be required to work in addition to this, and possibly one day the following weekend.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 To take responsibility for all aspects of the admissions process for designated academic areas
 To make and format decisions for entry to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in line with agreed criteria. To ensure that processing for applications takes place within the required timescales
 To check offers and ensure timely processing for postgraduate research applications and others where decision making responsibility lies within the academic schools.
 To ensure accuracy and consistency within offer making by checking all decisions and offers processed for the relevant courses on a daily basis
 To liaise effectively, and ensure familiarity, with, relevant external bodies and their policies and procedures such as UCAS, SPA, NARIC, QAA and the UKVI

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate previous admissions experience, attention to detail skills, a commitment to service excellence and the capacity to work flexibly and effectively with colleagues throughout the institution.
