My client, a large construction company based near Bury St Edmunds are currently recruiting for an Administration Officer in the Health and Safety Team. The successful candidate will provide Health and Safety and Environmental advice and also ensure they meet all the statutory and company requirements.

They are looking for a positive team player, promoting and leading health and safety culture, effective communicator demonstrating a “can do” attitude. You will ideally come from a Utilities and or Construction background and working towards a NEBOSH general/construction certificate or equivalent, they are also looking for the successful candidate to be a member of IOSH.

The main responsibilities for this role are:

Provide timely and sufficient information and guidance to requests for health safety and environmental advice across the business
Monitoring, reporting and analysing the HSE
Supporting incident investigations in a timely and effective manner
Collate, investigate, ensure effective closure and report upon hazards, near misses and HSE non-conformances raised from audits and incident findings
To support the development and review, policies and procedures that provides information and guidance to the business on Health Safety and Environmental Issues
Support the development and review business specific policies and procedures in relation to compliance to UK HSE regulations
To keep up to date with changes to developments in health, safety and environmental legislation that affects the organisation
Assist in collation of HSE metrics as detailed within the G roups HSE plan
Assist with the validation and ongoing management of contractors from an HSE perspective
Provide coaching on health safety and environment including the development and delivery of training and employee briefings including inductions
