My Teesside based client is looking for a experienced Administrator to lead and provide support to a well established Nursery.

Job Description:

To play a crucial part in its development ensuring that we deliver an educational programme that allows us to maximise the potential of every child. You will support the Manager/Deputy Manager to organise a full, varied and exciting programme of extra-curricular activities for children of all ages.

Typical Duties will include:

  • Meet and greet all parents/carers and children upon arrival at the nursery and provide any assistance required. e.g. issuing information on events and key dates
  • Answer incoming calls to the nursery and ensure an excellent level of customer service is offered at all times
  • All administrative duties in relation to Recruitment and HR, Monitoring budgets, expenditure and controllable costs with an aim to reduce spend where possible
  • Add payments, information and updates to nursery specific systems
  • Process accounts returns and payroll in a timely manner
  • Ensure children’s files contain up to date information, are updated regularly
  • Monitor staff and visitors signing in and our processes and ensure adherence to the mobile phone policy
  • Ensure that the Company’s policies and procedures are followed
  • All administrative duties in relation to the marketing and promotion of the nursery
  • Monitor and pass over all parent issues and complaints and accidents to Nursery Manager to ensure that remedial action is taken immediately

Person Specification:

  • Must hold a valid DBS certificate
  • We seek to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced, enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated Administrator/coordinator to work in our nursery
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in clerical work
  • Have GCSE passes in English and Maths or equivalent
  • Suitable both physically and mentally to work with young children
  • Have an understanding of good early years practice and inclusive education
  • Have knowledge of the guidance to the national standards for Daycare nursery, health, safety and hygiene standards
  • Have the ability to take responsibility for the organisation of daily office workload
  • Have the ability to work under pressure and use own initiative
  • Be able to work under the direct instruction of the manager/deputy manager and assist as a personal assistant
  • Be able to write professional letters to parents, staff and external agencies
  • The ability to organise events and work as part of a team coordinating tasks
  • The ability to initiate and maintain effective partnerships and working relationships with a wide range of people, including parents, colleagues and outside agencies
  • Be passionate about improving outcomes for all children
  • Be able to carry out all office duties effectively and efficiently
  • Be a reflective practitioner to improve performance
  • Be able to use computer and log data, good IT skills
  • Have very good organisation skills
  • The ability to work to deadlines
  • Have experience of safer recruitment and other HR tasks
  • Reliable and trustworthy
