Accounts Payable Assistant - Cambridge - £24,000-£26,000 per annum
An opportunity has arisen with a well known and highly respected not for profit organisation, based in Cambridge, for an experienced and confident Accounts Payable Assistant to join the existing finance team, taking responsibility for this fast moving function.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will include the following:
-Invoice recording and processing of payments
-Submitting BACS runs and assembling the paperwork for SMT checking
-Sending out remittances
-Reconciling supplier statements
-Dealing with invoice and payment queries
-Adding suppliers to the database and dealing with the administration and verification process thereof
-Supplier bank detail verification
-Post credit card transactions, record staff expenses and manage petty cash float and posting of payments, and ensure accurately recorded on the finance system and reconciled at month end
-Raising POs, posting GRNs and monitoring the PO accrual
-Assist with ordering of items requested by fund advisors
-Regularly reconcile the bank accounts and ensure all discrepancies are resolved and corrected
-Manage the bank accounts and administration of outgoing direct debits and standing orders
-Liaise with investment property managers, to obtain the monthly charges and split out these by activity and property
-Be aware of invoices that need accruing and prepaying
This is a busy role which requires communication with multiple organisations and suppliers. It is therefore essential that candidates have considerable Accounts Payable experience, with ideally a solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping. It is also essential that candidates possess a confident and efficient manner, along with excellent written and spoken communication skills. The ability to multi-task, work to deadlines and a very strong level of attention to detail is also necessary.
Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft packages, and be capable of using Excel to a good standard.
