This role is an entry level accounts assistant position for a 6 month maternity contract. You will be reporting into the financial controller. In return you will receive an hourly rate of £11.28 per hour PAYE or £13.77 via an umbrella company. This is based on working 09.00- 17.30pm (37.5 hours).
Your duties will include:
Review, sort, enter and dispatch payments onto the general ledger system, via the cash book accounts or purchase ledger, with further spreadsheet analysis as required.

Check, prepare and supply ready for banking cheques, credit card slips and cash.
Process, on a daily basis, journals and other inputs onto the nominal ledger.
Reconcile the general ledger control accounts, using data from other Society records and software.
Input, on a daily basis, miscellaneous bank items onto investors or borrowers accounts via the Summit mainframe.
Deal with Treasury Back Office administration, secure payments to authorise institutions, reconciliation of wholesale and funding positions and associated reporting.
Assist with the department’s daily post, including bank statements, BACS advice notes, miscellaneous correspondence and telephone queries.
