Accounts Assistant

Salary: £18,000+ 

Experience: Accounting: 2 years (Preferred)

Our client is looking for a Finance Assistant on 5 month Fixed-Term Contract, based in Bracknell. The working pattern will be Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Summary

The Finance Assistant position includes assisting in the processing of financial transactions, sales ledger and purchase ledger control, staff payroll and duty doctors pay. The Finance Assistant will also perform various admin tasks as required by the Finance Team

Key Responsibilities

  • Scanning and entering purchase invoices onto the purchase order system ready for importing into the Sage Accounts package
  • Assisting with the monthly payment of suppliers
  • Raising monthly sales invoices using the Sage Accounts package, sending relevant backing data when required via email
  • Credit control - assisting with the chasing up of outstanding debts
  • Daily bank reconciliations and reconciliation of customer/supplier accounts
  • Assisting with the preparation of the duty doctors pay on a monthly basis along with the preparation of the remittance advices to be sent to the relevant pension authority
  • Assisting with the submission of NHS Pension figures using the online pension services - this is for all pensionable members of staff, including doctors
  • Monitoring of the Accounts mail inbox, responding to queries and any additional ad-hoc duties which may be required by the Finance Team and the Chief Executive
  • Adhoc duties

Other

  • The Finance Assistant is required to adopt a flexible approach, maintaining standards even when asked to complete adhoc tasks. This may mean occasionally taking on new roles and responsibilities when they arise
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Able to organise workload and prioritise tasks, this may be required under pressure
  • To maintain total confidentiality when dealing with financial data, statistical data relating to patients and any performance data relating to staff
  • Be willing to learn new systems and how to use software on the job. Training will be provided at the beginning and will be managed with support
  • You are required to maintain a mutually supportive working relationship with all EBPC staff
