The successful candidate will gain experience of bringing accounts to the trial balance stage and have the opportunity to be involved in Treasury functions including investment accounting, cash flow reporting & planning and reconciliation of the sales ledger.

In addition, you may assist with payments, budgeting, indirect & direct taxation, whilst also preparing data and narrative for various monthly, quarterly concerning all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Finance Journals & Ledgers: post the journals and maintain the general ledgers (e.g. sales, profit share provisions, accruals, fixed assets) and use the information to prepare a trial balance for later approval.
• Reporting: assist in the collection, population & analysis of financial reporting data adding appropriate narrative as necessary.
• Reconciliation: undertake the reconciliation of the balances & accounts under your control & propose remedy for any discrepancies.
• Work Flow Management: plan & priorities own work to meet internal customer/project requirements.
• Support: provide ongoing support to Level A1 roles but without line management responsibility. Take part in ad-hoc projects.
• Compliance: carry out all tasks in line with stipulated processes, procedures & authority limits.
• Learning & Development: take responsibility for own learning needs & objectives. Work closely with colleagues to progress knowledge & skills base.
• Customer Service: responding to queries from both external and internal customers in respect of financial information and processes, including resolving any issues that arise.

This role will see you reconciling control accounts and taking responsibility to some aspects of the general ledger under their control. You may find yourself assisting more junior finance staff.


• Graduate in a relevant subject or a good level of education (min. 3 A Levels Grade C+ in relevant subjects) and qualified to at least AAT level 2
• Good working knowledge of MS Office applications. Good numeracy & literacy skills.
