I am currently working with an electronics business in Bradford to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their small Accountancy team. The successful candidate will take on a varied set of duties and primarily be responsible for the purchase ledger.

Duties of the role are not limited to:

-Managing the purchase ledger
-Processing all incoming invoices - matching, batching and coding
-Preparing payment runs
-Supplier statement reconciliations
-Ensuring that all record keeping is kept up to date and accurate
-Supporting the Office Manager with any ad-hoc duties
-Supporting the Sales Team with any ad-hoc duties
-Answering telephone calls

Ad-hoc duties to include:

-Credit control - chasing debts via telephone, email and letter
-Bank reconciliations
-Sales ledger - entering payments received

Longer term, there will be scope to get involved with customs processing and also transport scheduling and logistics.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00

What are we looking for in a candidate?

•At least two years experience in a relevant Accounts role
•Competent working with the Purchase Ledger
•Experience of processing invoices (around 50 per week)
•AAT qualification is desirable
•Confident, sociable and easy going 
•Eagerness to learn and progress with the company
•Proficient user of Sage (Sage 50 preferred)
