Fixed Term Contract (6 months) Property Accountant - Cambridge city centre - £35,000-£45,000 per annum
A leading Cambridge establishment currently have an opening for an experienced Property Accountant to join their established finance team, for an initial period of 6 months (there is a chance this will be extended).
Reporting in to the Finance Manager, this role will include the following:
-Preparation of quarterly/annual management accounts, forecasts and budgets
-Prepare detailed variance analysis reports quarterly for capital, income and expenditure
-Maintain the property database (Propman) ensuring all rent and insurance demands are issued in a timely manner and ensure aged debt reports are maintained and appropriate action taken
-Ensure all income and expenditure is recorded accurately in the nominal ledger. Ensure all new leases, rent reviews, sales and purchases, lease expiries etc... are correctly setup on Propman and all associated legal documentation is processed correctly
-Ensure all College properties are properly insured and any changes are notified to insurer
-Liaise with managing agents quarterly to ensure all capital expenditure has been identified and complete a year end reconciliation with them to ensure property valuations have taken all capex into account
-Preparation and reconciliation of agents fee accounts monthly
-Liaise with agents and solicitors relating to property purchases, sales, lease expiries, rent reviews etc.
-Ensure bank accounts are reconciled monthly and agree with TB
-Ensure that VAT is reported monthly, check quarterly VAT return
-Ensure all supplier invoices are coded correctly and paid in a timely manner
This client would like to receive applications from candidates with he following skills, experience and qualifications:
-Part or fully ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified
-Knowledge of property leases, rack rents and insurance
-Good accounting knowledge
-Advanced Microsoft Office skills
-Excellent Excel skills including VLookups & Pivot tables
-Previous experience using Propman (desirable)
-Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
-Good communication skills
