REED Specialist Recruitment is currently seeking to recruit an Account Manager (legal) to join a corporate secretarial and a legal team on behalf of our client. As a company, it help global companies expand and invest seamlessly across international borders. Our expert accountants, corporate secretarial and HR and payroll professionals are located around the world, enabling clients to operate their corporate structures, finance vehicles and investment funds in different geographical locations.

The purpose of this role is to manage and support the delivery of a range of corporate Secretarial services and legal services to the company’s clients. The successful candidate will have responsibility for a portfolio of clients and will act as their primary day to day contact for all Corporate Secretarial requirements as well as manage a team to deliver high quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for development and delivery of outsourced services to clients and client on boarding.
• Drafting corporate documents, arrange for their execution, review agreements and contracts if required in the course of outsourced services to clients.
• Drives business development from existing clients.
• Supervision and management of a delivery team including the ability to cascade and implement decisions.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients.
• Advising clients on some legal, compliance and governance matters.
• Working closely with clients to build and embed robust compliance and governance systems, processes and controls, in accordance with relevant regulation and best practice.
• This includes drafting and ensuring clients’ adherence to various governance policies.
• Full board/committee support services to clients including attending and take care of the minutes in the meetings if required.
• Keeping up to date on changes in the legislation, regulation and best practice.
• Annual compliance services.
• Participating in events on behalf of the company.
• Be appointed as company MLRO

Key Requirements

• Fully knowledgeable on the day-to-day activities of their business area.
• Is aware of client contracts and what is W.I.P/’out of scope’.
• Takes accountability for the delivery and drives team results.
• Able to successfully deliver short to medium term projects.
• Records their time accurately, within deadline in addition to approving time for others.
• Is aware of productivity within the team.
• Is responsible for debt collection and negotiation of fees with clients in area of accountability.
• Communicates (verbally and through written work) information in a clear and concise manner.
• Role model for the team, modelling group values and appropriate work ethic.
• Trustworthy team member who considers those around them.
• Key knowledge and experience
• Law degree from reputable University
• Proven background and experience including but not limited in Maltese corporate law, contract law, employment law, trust law, etc. Experience in financial services sector is a plus.
• 5+ years’ experience with law firm or similar corporate service provider
• Prior people management experience.
• Expertise in all MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and other software packages as appropriate.
• Ability to handle multiple task and work under time pressure
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
