My client in Godalming is a well-established marketing software company, with a strong product offering and an excellent blue-chip client base. They are well placed in a growing market and support their growing client base with a marketing oriented Account Management team. They now require an additional Marketing Account Manager to join the team.

The key purpose of the role is to ensure retention of clients through regular contact, understanding of business objectives and providing support to help them to achieve those. To encourage usage of additional elements of the software and to sell those where appropriate and to sell services.

This role will be based at the Godalming office but will have the flexibility to also work from home. 

You will cover a territory that includes London and the Home Counties. 

Basic salary will be £30,000-£35,000 plus an achievable and considerable bonus on top!

Extensive training programme is offered for the right candidate. 


• Monthly telephone contact with all clients and varying numbers of visits dependent on need
• Preparation for calls and visits and post call/visit follow up and reporting
• Negotiating contract renewals, at an increased rate where possible
• Selling services and data to existing clients
• Providing email and digital marketing guidance
• Maintaining accurate CRM and internal systems information
• Creating contracts (within an established framework) and sales order documentation

This role is purely an account management role looking after existing clients. There is no lead generation.


Experience of working in a B2B marketing environment, either at a client or an agency, preferably in a consultancy capacity.
Marketing qualifications would be an advantage, but a good working knowledge of current B2B marketing practice would be sufficient.
Experience of working in an account management or sales role.
Clean driving licence and car in a good state of repair (Parking available)


Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy and communication
Excellent PC literacy – Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/CRM
A working knowledge of consultancy sales techniques and ideally some formal training
Positive ‘can do’ attitude and a desire to help clients
Excellent grasp of software, preferably with experience of marketing automation or email marketing
Organised approach to work, able to multi-task, with attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent telephone and email communication skills
Graphic design or html skills would be an advantage, but not essential
Team player
