Force Crime Management Finalisations Officer

We are delighted to be working in partnership with one of our key clients to recruit a Force Crime Management Finalisations Officer to work in Wakefield, this role is on an ongoing temporary basis until the end of March 2017 however does have the possibility of continuing longer for the right candidate.

Purpose of role - To complete all crime occurrence finalisations after an investigation has been completed. Ensure the accuracy of the outcome codes that have been applied. Provide support and feedback to operation staff where appropriate.

• Lead by example and behave in line with the Police Code of Ethics and the Force purpose and values. Taking the appropriate action to ensure all of your team members do likewise.
• Complete all crime occurrence finalisations in accordance with national and local guidelines ensuring the accuracy of all outcome codes and that the victim’s code of practice is adhered to. This ensures that all Home Office requirements are adhered to in relation to Data return.
• Where issues with data quality are identified, return work for re-submission. This will ensure the quality and standards that are required for finalisation are met.
• Provide feedback to operational staff. This will ensure quality, standards and advice where identified and appropriate.
• Scrutinise all applications which would require a Dedicated Decision Makers ruling. Provide feedback and return those identified which do not meet the required standard for re-work. This will ensure consistency and standards around decision making.
• Keep up to date with Force briefings, changes to processes and structures, new and revised legislation and Home Office guidance. Proactively seek clarification where necessary.
• Scrutinise all reclassification requests and reclassify in line with local / national policy.

You will need a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel. This role would suit an enthusiastic individual who has a flexibility to work and who has good communication skills both verbally and written.

The purpose of the role is to provide a comprehensive support function to the Senior Leadership Team and in conjunction with Line Manager, working closely with colleagues to provide support across the organisation in times of absence or high workloads.

1. Lead by example and behave in line with the company Ethics and Values, taking appropriate action to ensure that all your team members do likewise.
2. Provide first point of contact to the Senior Leadership Team, screen calls, take messages and receive internal and external visitors ensuring all callers and guests are dealt with in a courteous and efficient manner.

4. Organise and co-ordinate meetings as required for SLT, attend to ensure appropriate actions/minutes of each meeting are completed and updated accordingly.

7. Maintenance of appropriate intranet pages, ensuring key information and messages are distributed as determined by the SLT.
