1-1 SEN Teacher

Reed Education are currently recruiting for a number of 1-1 Teachers / Tutors ( with QTS ) to support students with a variety of Special Educational Needs on a 1-1 basis in the East and North London area of London.

At present the advisory service require Qualified Teachers to start either immediately OR in January 2016, a few of the caseloads include support for the following students on a full or part time basis:

- Autism, Year 5 (KS2) based in Tower Hamlets

- EBD, Year 5 (KS2) based in Redbridge

- Global Delay, Year 9 (KS3) based in Waltham Forest

- EBD and Aspergers requires a Science Secondary Teacher to teach GCSE, based in Newham

- Anxiety, Year 10 (KS4) based in Havering


This teaching position is within an alternative provision based in East London for students aged 5-16.

Each Tutor will been assigned to 1-3 students and most sessions will last the day, some travelling may be required to which you will be reimbursed.

Tuition is arranged to take place in the home, community setting (e.g. library), school, PRU or other appropriate setting.

This teaching position is only suited towards qualified teachers with QTS, that can offer their expertise and guidance to Primary OR Secondary students.

Tuition can be short, medium or long term, and the length of assignments can be difficult to predict at the start but is flexible around your preference of a part time or full time position.

The ultimate aim of tuition is to maintain progress in education whilst a student is unable to attend school/other setting, and to prepare for reintegration into a group context if and when possible, depending on the student’s situation.

Tutors are expected to:

• Plan appropriate sessions tailored to the needs of the students

• Act as a keyworker for students receiving tuition. This will include liaising with key agencies providing verbal and written reports, and attending multi agency meetings (for which payment will be made).

• Liaise with school/PRU staff to ensure the lessons delivered link with prior/current /future learning programmes and priorities.

• Keep records of sessions, including activities, subject areas covered, assessment undertaken and any observations and comments about the sessions.

• Complete the weekly report using the proforma, and return to Individual Tuition Coordinator by the Monday following each week, via email.

• Provide a copy of the weekly report to parents/carers.

The ideal Teacher

- Teachers must have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
- Must have taught in a Primary or Secondary School environment.
- Able to use own initiative
- Provide a fun and valuable learning environment.

What does the role involve?

As the HR Payroll Administrator you will be responsible for all Payroll activities, accurately carrying out monthly Payroll preparation, to include expenses and deductions, the input, calculation and recording of sickness, processing of P45’s/P60’s, maintaining holiday records and providing information to external agencies as needed.

You will also be responsible for HR Administration assisting the HR Manager in with tasks ranging from entry and maintenance of employee data, to covering different aspects of the recruitment and leaving process, as well as a variety of HR tasks as needed and some general administrative activities.

To be successful in this role you will….

You will have worked in a similar role and will have experience covering the full Payroll lifecycle for a large number of employees (250-500), as well as exposure to HR. On top of this you will be a great communicator at all levels, be able to work autonomously, possess great initiative, attention to detail and most of all be a friendly team player.
