SEN Teaching Assistant needed in Plymouth

  • PLYMOUTH, DEVON
  • Temporary

£65 to £75 Per day

Student support staff in Plymouth with outdoor education experience required for ongoing work, immediate start.

If you are experienced in Outdoor Education and interested in working with groups of young people, supporting their education then this could be the opportunity you have been looking for.

This school provides a chance for students to access education on a full time basis that have not been able to succeed in mainstream school. Most of their learning is done outside of the classroom, with the students engaging in activities in the local area and completing bespoke learning based tasks whilst out. Most of the work is done on a one to one or two to one basis so you will spend large amounts of time with the students, building your professional relationship with them and supporting their progress.

As an experienced Outdoor Education practitioner you will bring real added value. A large amount of the students' time is spent outdoors and as such the school has a real need to look to those who can co-ordinate and competently run outdoor based activities. Anything from water-sports certificates to Mountain Leader qualifications will be utilised. If you can couple this with experience of working with small groups of disadvantaged or challenging young people then this role would suit perfectly.

For more information, or to apply for this role please respond to this advert and we will be happy to help.

Secondary Teachers Plymouth

  • PLYMOUTH, DEVON
  • Temporary

£105 to £135 Per day

Reed Education Plymouth is your local branch of the UK’s leading recruitment agency for Teachers.

Under new management and with a brand new team we now want to hear from teachers looking for permanent, contract, long term and short term temporary work. We are looking for applications from Secondary Teachers of all subjects to cover supply, and those who are looking for longer term work as well. The Autumn term has seen a rise in the requirement for long term cover in most schools, a trend that is continuing in to the Spring term.

The stresses and strains of a full time, permanent teaching job can take a toll on your personal life too. If you would like to move on from your current position but don’t seem to be able to find the time to search, or worried that your current employer might find out you are planning to leave we can also help you by registering you for permanent and contract employment only. We can search on your behalf for the next step in career, progression or a move in to something part time if full time work is proving too much.

Working on a temporary basis can help you to recapture your love for teaching, as well as very quickly building your professional network. You will be able to see how different schools work and start to make an assessment of what is important for you in your next role. Very often, those that are appointed into contract roles are the ones that have been working with the school on short term or supply assignments. Think of it as a working interview!

The pay is good, and better than you might expect. We pay up to £120 a day for supply cover and more for long term bookings. If you secure a contract or permanent role you will be employed by the school and paid at your point on the pay scale. You will need a fully enhanced DBS Certificate but we can organise that for you. We take care of all the other checks too, leaving you to do the bit you are good at, delivering outstanding lessons to young people in the classroom.

For more information about this role, or any other Secondary Teacher jobs with Reed Education please click Apply Now to send us your CV, or contact the Plymouth branch by phone or e-mail.
