SEN Teaching Assistant

  • LOSTWITHIEL, CORNWALL
  • Temporary

£65 to £80 Per day

Due to expansion and development of a new education service based in Mid Cornwall we are recruiting for experienced Teaching Assistants to provide excellent levels of support to students who display challenging behaviour.

This Multi Academy Trust is growing rapidly and has expanded their provision in to the County of Cornwall. They are re-shaping the way education is delivered to SEN EBD students and working very closely with Local Authorities across the South West to ensure those that are not able to apply themselves in a mainstream school setting still have an opportunity to access outstanding education.

Teaching and learning is delivered through a combination of classroom work and mainly “Learning outside the Classroom”. Students are given bespoke learning packages tailored to suit their needs and given the opportunity to access activities away from school whilst engaging in the work that has been set. As such, days will be varied and interesting and whilst it will be challenging work making progress with disengaged learners can be very rewarding.

Applicants will need to have experience in this area, or a similar field such as youth work or social work. You should be able to display high levels of patience, persistence and determination to give the students every opportunity to succeed. You will need to have a genuine desire to see these young people do well.

A driving licence and access to a car is essential for the role, a full DBS check will also be required.

Secondary Teaching Opportunities

  • PLYMOUTH, DEVON
  • Temporary

£100 to £120 Per day

Reed Education Plymouth is your local branch of the UK’s leading recruitment agency for Teachers.

Under new management and with a brand new team we now want to hear from teachers looking for permanent, contract, long term and short term temporary work. We are looking for applications from Secondary Teachers of all subjects to cover supply, and those who are looking for longer term work as well. The Autumn term last year saw a rise in the requirement for long term cover in most schools, a trend that has continued in to the Spring term.

The stresses and strains of a full time, permanent teaching job can take a toll on your personal life too. If you would like to move on from your current position but don’t seem to be able to find the time to search, or worried that your current employer might find out you are planning to leave we can also help you by registering you for permanent and contract employment only. We can search on your behalf for the next step in your career, progression or a move in to something part time if full time work is proving too much.

Working on a temporary basis can help you to recapture your love for teaching, as well as very quickly building your professional network. You will be able to see how different schools work and start to make an assessment of what is important for you in your next role. Very often, those that are appointed into contract roles are the ones that have been working with the school on short term or supply assignments. Think of it as a working interview!

The pay is good, and better than you might expect. We pay up to £120 a day for supply cover and more for long term bookings. If you secure a contract or permanent role you will be employed by the school and paid at your point on the pay scale. You will need a fully enhanced DBS Certificate but we can organise that for you. We take care of all the other checks too, leaving you to do the bit you are good at, delivering outstanding lessons to young people in the classroom.

We'd love to hear from you, so please get in touch as soon as you have a few minutes to spare.
