Finance Manager

REED Accountancy are currently seeking a full time permanent Finance Manager to join their team based in Newbury.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone would be working for a newly acquired company managing the accounts within a small team.

The ideal candidate would have a strong background in accounts and be able to work on their own initiative. Knowledge of SAGE would be advantageous alongside previous experience within managing people.

Duties for this position will include, but not be limited to:

1. Oversee the day-to-day running of the finance area
2. Reconciliation of bank accounts, completing cash flow forecasts and providing commentary on variances.
3. Control of the supplier payment process
4. Overview and understanding of notifications to Invoice Discounting bank
5. Manage day to day relationship with the bank from an Invoice Discounting perspective and make sure the company operates within its headroom
6. Calculation and preparation of monthly management accounts
7. Ensuring all month end general ledger reconciliations & working papers are prepared and approved in accordance with the external auditors requirements
8. Submitting Intrastat and EC Sales information to HMRC
9. Make sure all PAYE and VAT tax matters and payments are kept up to date
10. Daily, weekly and monthly sales reports as required.
11. Ensuring that the fixed asset register is kept up to date and relevant detail provided.
12. Supervision of staff: recruitment, motivation, development, assessment and discipline.

There will be a requirement to travel to Wiltshire on a regular basis for Management Meetings therefore a driver would be an advantage.

• To ensure all training programmes are quality assured and that outcomes meet Service needs.
• To liase and work with trainers from other agencies on common issues.


The ideal candidate will have:


• A confident and competent user of I.T; familiarity with Microsoft products.
• Demonstrate ability to design and deliver effective training programmes
• Energy, enthusiasm and competence for motivating and developing others
• Ability to understand IT information systems in depth from the user perspective and translate into an effective learning package.
• Able to communicate IT system information in non-technical language
• Good communication skills, including written, verbal and presentational skills
• A flexible and willing team worker
