Ten Reasons to relocate to South Wales
Should I be looking for jobs in South Wales?
Yes! We think South Wales is the place to be. Not only does it boast fantastic career opportunities-whether you're a teacher, social worker, engineer, accountant or anything in between-there's a whole host of other reasons we think South Wales is the best place in the UK, whatever you are looking for. We have asked our Consultants in Reed South Wales to share with you their top ten reasons why:
1. Cardiff was voted the number one City in the UK to live in.
This really is the only point needed, it speaks for itself. In a 2014 poll Cardiff was voted the best place to live in the UK, and also made it onto the list of top cities to live in Europe.
2. Beautiful Beaches
The Gower Peninsula is home to some of the worlds most beautiful beaches, Rhossili bay was voted number 1 beach in the UK and 9th in the World. Rest Bay Beach is one of the UK's top surfing hotspots, and at Barry Island beach you can have a Gavin and Stacey Tour and take a ride in Dave's Coach. Like we said, there is something for everyone.
South Wales hosts an array of eclectic festivals; Abergavenny Food Festival, Caerphilly's Big Cheese, The Green Man Festival, Festival number 6 to name but a few. The Elvis festival in Porth Cawl is a particular selling point, being the largest Elvis festival in the world.
The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff is home to the Welsh Rugby Team, and will be hosting some of the Rugby World Cup matches. The Liberty Stadium in Swansea is home to The Swans football team, 4th in the Premier league, or why not visit The Swalec Stadium where England recently beat Australia and went on to win the Ashes.
5. Exciting Re-development
South Wales is going through huge redevelopment. Commuter links are being put in place through the Valleys, so you can enjoy the low house prices and beauty of the valleys, whilst being able to work in a Capital City. Newport has welcomed a new world class university campus, a state of the art leisure and shopping complex, new railway station and iconic architecture. Cardiff has also agreed the proposal of 45000 new homes to be built. It is an exciting time to be moving to South Wales.
6. Bars and Restaurants
We have an awesome collection of independent, quirky bars and restaurants serving home grown produce and locally brewed drinks. Bar Cwtch, The Bunkhouse, Ruperra, O'Sullivans and The Bier Keller are some of our Consultants particular favourites-Why not try them out.
7. Stunning Scenery.
The undeniable beauty of the Welsh Countryside is something you have to experience. Black Mountain in the Brecon Beacons boasts beautiful views, or try your hand at walking up Pen Y Fan to marvel at the Welsh Valleys below. The beauty of South Wales is you can be amongst the hustle and bustle of a Capital City one minute, and surrounded by the lush valleys the next.
8. The Famous Sights
Many of your favourite TV shows are filmed right here in South Wales; Dr Who, Game of Thrones, Robin Hood, Snow White and The Huntsman and Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows to name a few.
9. Joes Ice Cream
When we asked our consultants their favourite thing about living in South Wales, Joes Ice Cream came up numerous times. The delicious Luxury Italian Ice Cream opened their first parlour in Swansea in 1898, and now have Parlours across South Wales. A particular favourite is their Parlour in Mumbles.
With their beautiful lyrical language and endearing passion for just being Welsh, The Welsh people are renowned for being friendly, welcoming and a good laugh! (except maybe if you are English and it's a match day.)
