IT Leaders Forum
We discuss "Big Data" at our event at the Belfry
In February, Reed Technology Leadership Practice held their first IT Leaders Forum of 2013 and tackled the subject of Big Data. This is heavily promoted by both technology vendors and industry analysts as the next "big" thing, with significant potential to transform a business and drive increased revenue. However, the seasoned IT professional may be forgiven for cynicism.
Tim Hargest, Head of BI Solutions at E.ON IT, led a discussion on the potential for big data (within the utility sector, but relevant elsewhere), with an eye on those elements which he believes are critical to effective deployment, i.e. robust business case assessment, portfolio analysis and effective governance. This event is aimed at strategic leaders in IT to help them understand the issues in unlocking the true potential of Big Data within their organisations. Tim's career spans 28 years, recent roles have focused on IS strategy, architecture and technology leadership within the European utility sector.
Date: 27th February 2013
