Reed Education: Investing in your personal & professional development
Reed Education is committed to offering all of our candidates the latest in professional development and updates. That's why we are pioneering a new way of delivering CPD. We know that after school and weekend courses are not always convenient for all of our candidates, so we want to make CPD as accessible as possible by presenting our courses in an online format that can be downloaded and utilised any time, anywhere.
New content will be added on an ongoing basis, but for now we have the following to offer:
Learning and Behaviour Management
Behaviour management is one of the hot topics in education today. From disruptive behaviour to how to make an impact as a supply teacher, we want to make as you confident as possible in your classroom management skills. Practical Strategies for Dealing with Classroom Behaviour () provides realistic strategies and ideas for taking a proactive approach to classroom management. For the more theoretically minded among you, Theories of Learning and Behaviour () provides a theoretical overview of the most popular and widely used strategies of learning and behaviour. For those of you on the move, Practical Strategies for Dealing with Classroom Behaviour is also available with our Managing Behaviour Podcast for you to listen to in your car, on the tube or anywhere else.
Interactive Whiteboards are now commonplace in the majority of Primary Schools. They offer exciting and innovative ways of presenting information and planning lessons. To ensure that you are confident in using Whiteboards on a day-to-day supply basis, we have collated some useful resources for you. Download the Software Pack from SMART Exchange () onto your computer and plan lessons in advance from home that you can put onto a USB stick - great for emergency planning. The Basic Guide () provides step-by-step instructions on how to use Smartboards, from switching on to basic functionality. For help creating lesson plans at home visit www.iwb.org.uk ()which is packed full of useful ideas and resources that you can download.
